What is cognitive behavioural coaching (CBC)?

Cognitive behavioural coaching is an integrative approach focused on understanding and changing unhelpful thinking and behaviour patterns, combining elements from various psychological and social theories.

It is a structured, goal-oriented and collaborative process focused on the here and now and targets non-clinical problems and challenges, such as self-doubt, indecisiveness, underperformance or other non-clinical psychological distress.

CBC is founded on the principle that thoughts, emotions, and behaviours significantly influence how individuals interpret and respond to problems and situations. It proposes that people may not possess adequate problem-solving and decision-making skills, or may struggle to apply them effectively within particular contexts.

About

I am a trained cognitive-behavioural coach, with a strong foundation in psychology. Along traditional coaching (goal-oriented), I focus on emotional self-management such as identifying troublesome emotions, self defeating behaviours and thoughts by using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC).

Originally from Romania, I completed my master’s degree in management and economics in Berlin, Germany and started my professional career as a consultant for an international management consultancy specializing in enterprise performance management and spent over a decade in the corporate world of various well-known German companies. Along with my relocation to Brussels, I decided to follow my longtime interest in psychology and neuroscience. I continued my studies in psychology and trained as a cognitive-behavioural coach at the Centre for Coaching, London and I am currently a member of the Association for Coaching (AC). I subscribe to the Global Code of Ethics for Coaches, Mentors and Supervisors.
